Bruneigo Qualifies for Panzhou Cup 2019

15 September 2019, was the 3rd Panzhou Cup 2019 Selection. 10 participants attended and competed 4 rounds in the morning. Hence, the team has been selected and as follow:-

Team Leader: Xinwen
– Geedah 8-kyu
– NCong 6-kyu?
– Victor 3-kyu
– Zyang 12-kyu (Teenage Group)

The team will be dispatched to China on the 18 ~ 23 October, 2019.

2th ~ 5th June 2019, The 14th Korea Prime Minister International Baduk Championship was held at Yeong Sports Park Stadium, Yeongwol-gun, Gangwon-do. SIA KXiang 2-dan made his debut in the World Amateur Go Championship accompanied by official, Winston ANG.

Notably, Asian Go Federation Annual General Meeting attended by representative Winston ANG has reported that prize ceremony was given out to the top 4 countries that excelled during the AGF Online Tournament happened this year. The Meeting also expressed that the objective of AGF will assist as much as possible in Go relevant supports upon requested.

KXiang won 2 games out of 6 games earning himself a position of 42 out of 62.

4th Student Promotion Test Competition 2019

1st September 2019, The 4th Student Promotion Test Go Competition; this season was to play on 13×13. The event is part rank assessment test for new and existing students.

6 students participants attended and competed in a four-rounds matches from 13 30 to 15 30 hosted at World Vision Tuition School, Kiarong.

Brunei in China Weiqi Congress 2019

China Weiqi Congress was held from the 19-25th August at the newly built Rizhao City Expo Center as part of the extension of Rizhao Technology & Cultural Center. The Congress comprised of 31 events including artificial intelligence exhibition, book exhibition, history of weiqi development and so on.

The Congress invited leaders from 55 different Go Associations around the world to take part in the event.

From Brunei Darussalam Go Association is the Asst. President, Xinwen.

Welcome Dinner

24th August, 2019

24th August 2019, the welcoming ceremony for International guests from around the world, initiated speech by the Mayor of Rizhao City and General Lim, President of China Weiqi Association.

During the welcoming ceremony, each leader of Go Association was invited to the stage to play a move which will be displayed on the big projected screen representing “a game of World Kifu”

The expo comprised AI Championship final round, local food vendors, monks competition, local tea vendors, Go Equipment merchandise and so on.

Friendly exchange dialogue between the 55 International guests and the leaders of different Chinese Go Association. The International representative would then eventually made a business deal and partnership with the leaders of different Chinese Weiqi Association.

18th July 2019, the last day of St. Andrew’s School Go Class. Brunei Darussalam Go Association felt very pleased because there were some very promising students. Regardless, the students enjoyed a lot from Go.

Go Exhibition on Olympic Day in Brunei 2019

30th June 2019, Brunei Olympic Day was organized by the Ministry of Culture, Youth, and Sports. The event was held at the Multi-Purpose Hall of the Hassanal Bolkiah National Sports Complex, initiated by His Royal Highness Prince Haji Sufri Bolkiah.

Brunei Darussalam Go Association was invited to set up an exhibition to allow the Public to learn the game; moreover, The Association had the opportunity to demonstrate to His Royal Highness.

The 1st AGF Cup Online Baduk Championship 2019

The 1st ever AGF Cup Online Baduk Championship will be held at the online go server: wbaduk starting tomorrow 14th June (Friday); 8 teams will be competing!

This event is in conjunction with the Korea Prime Minister Baduk Championship.

The 40th World Amateur Go Championship, Matsue, Japan 2019

2th ~ 5th June 2019, The 40th World Amateur Go Championship was held at Shimane Culture HallMatsueShimane, JapanLim Fyang (age:13) has made his debut in the World Amateur Go Championship accompanied by team leader, Xinwen.

Brunei Darussalam Go Association has skipped for two-years and had decided to join the WAGC this year 2019 which was held at Matsue City of Shimane. Fyang was the youngest participants among the other 59 representatives.

Fyang won 1 game out of 8 games earning himself a position of 59th out of 60th – overall he wasn’t prepared but he has did his best considered his level (10kyu 2019).

KaoXiang debut to his first Korea Prime Minister Baduk Championship 2019

26th May 2019, was the Korea Prime Minister Baduk Championship 2019 Selection in conjunction with the Second Student Qualifying Event (which was held on the 24th May 2019).

KaoXiang 2-dan will be representing us to compete in the upcoming Korea Prime Minister Baduk Championship 2019 which is happening from the August 31st to the September 6th at Yeongwol, South Korea.
