*First duel with Orpheus Wynes*
The first match with Xinwen was Wynes who started with Chinese Fuseki, then a pincer when Xinwen approached at 1. Then the unusual part of joseki resulted when Black extended extra exchange at 12 instead of usual joseki at jumping “a”.
Well probably he wanted to emphasized on profit rather than thickness/development in center. Also probably because he doubted Xinwen’s skills in middle board fight.
In fact, Xinwen had always very proud with his thickness style and center board fight, which was seen in this game later when Black group had hard time settling 2 groups resulting of 3 groups had died though unclean.
In the end, Wynes managed to draw some trick against Xinwen to make his group alive. To some extent, the attitude was wrong because Xinwen had deliberately showing wynes sign to resign but he did not.
However, Xinwen had learned he should have cleaned kill the group, instead of forcing people to resign because they do not like to resign.
*Malaysia Representative Player*
After Suzanne, the talented Valkyrie of Malaysia pinned down Mr.Tiong, the leader of the knight; she faced the final duel against the Sword Saint of Malaysia’s, Boon Ping.
Incredibly, Boon Ping defeated Suzanne, forcing resignation. Malaysia representative player for WAGC goes to Boon Ping.
