Saturday (9th of August, 2009), Malaysia Weiqi Association had their selection for the World Pair Go Tournament in Japan which would be going to held in coming November 17th. The participants were:- Philip, Alex, Wynes, Jimmy, Hock Doong, Chyn, Anthony and Xinwen.

The rules were in Japanese, Nigiri. Komi is 6.5 and the selection system is swiss. After doing some shuffling in pairings, Xinwen had happened to play against Philip on the first round.

Xinwn didn’t went well from the fuseki then a major mistake at White “82”, resulting a thick wall for black.

Lately, Xinwen noticed Philip Cher and Dennis Chen had happened to play out that fuseki shown above. Thus, of course forcing Xinwen to study from professional’s game regarding the variation.

Probability 1 is one of the easiest variation to learn. however the White “1” stone probably will be attacked severely later.

Probability 2 “runs together” with the black and resulting a small scale battle.
